Awesome flight capture Debra. The churning background waters and mist complement the beauty of the pelican very nicely here.. your focus and timing were spot on. Beautiful image!

Thanks a lot Heather. I enjoy visiting the dam in the summertime. You can always count on the pelicans fishing and flying. There is quite a few catfish in this area. Just down river from here the floodway meets back up with the Red River. Lots going on here.

You took a terrific pose of that gliding pelican Debra. I like those black feathers going straight down and the calm state of the neck and body. Not to talk about the nice rushing waters of the background witch is a great add on.

Thank Yves, this is a great location to go and practice those birds in flight shots. I tried to get a shot of a pelican swallowing a fish but have not been successful yet.

Thank you Clifford, this is a great place to visit in the summer to practice birds in flight shots. I usually try to visit the dam a few times throughout the summer.
